Arrive Bagdogra Airport at noon. After lunch at local restaurant, transfer to Gangtok – the capital of Sikkim, land of monasteries, mystic rituals & festivals. At a height of 5480ft, it is the most visited place in India. Reach & check in Hotel. Evening free to roam around M. G. road (Mall Road) Dinner & stay at Hotel, Gangtok.
After breakfast, proceed for a full day site seeing of Gangtok including visit to Namgyal Institute of Tibetology, Hanuman Tok, Ganesh Tok, Sikkim Zoo, Rope way & Rumtek Monastery. Dinner & stay at Hotel, Gangtok.
Early morning visit Nathu la Pass (Subject to BSF Permission) Enroute visit Tsomgo Lake & Baba Mandir. This is nearly 40 kms – 2 hour drive along the Kyongnosla Alpine Sanctuary, home to the red panda & the blood pheasant with Rhododendron & other alpine trees along the road. Situated at 12310 ft, Tsomgo Lake is oval shaped, nearly 50ft deep & generally covered in snow for most of the year. This lake is home to the Brahmini ducks & many migratory birds. Baba Mandir is also located nearby& known to be a very holy site. Nathu la is a pass to the Republic of China and is the Indo China Border. Return back to Gangtok by evening. Dinner & stay at Gangtok.
After breakfast, check out &proceed to the mountain village of Lachung (8860 ft)which is close to the Tibetan border. The village is home to the 19th Century Buddhist Lachung Monastery. Enroute see the famous Amitabh Bachchan waterfalls. Reach by evening & check in Hotel. Dinner & stay at Hotel, Lachung.
Early morning proceed for a full day visit of Yumthang Valley (11693 ft) It is a beautiful valley with river, hot springs, yaks & grazing pastures. Popularly known as ‘Valley of Flowers’ & home to Shingba Rhododendron Sanctuary, it has over 24 species of rhododendrons – the state flower.Return to hotel by evening. Dinner & stay, Lachung.
After breakfast, check out & transfer to Gangtok. Reach by evening & check in Hotel. Dinner & stay at Gangtok.
